kyoto loco edit and reasons why this weekend was awesome!

KYOTO LOCO '08 from Eli Tokyo Jitensha-Jin on Vimeo.

sick edit from jitensha-jin's blog of the 200 person messenger event in tokyo last week.

check out the tie-die paint job we had all dreamed of on that starfuckers frame!
the backwards circles! that guy will not stop!

also, the spinergy rear track wheel and the baseball helmet instead of a bike helmet are noteworthy details.
check out more of jitensha-jins edits on vimeo. great sense of cinematography and timing!

hey thanks to everyone who came out for the first friday race!
getting third in the main race and third overall was really awesome but considering i was up on the podium with cloyd, jk and matt b (who are all beasts!) i was definitely honored to participate. i'll put some pictures up when i get some developed.

the swap meet was pretty much picked over by the time i got there on saturday at 1030, but i managed to find a Selle Italia Flite saddle for twenty bucks, sold my 26.6 zeus seatpost to jason from atxbs.com, and joe built up a bike for his girlfriend with better components for less money than any of the rest of us own for ourselves: black low flange phil woods to velocity fusions for $200? the early bird definitely gets the worm, joe, even if you were too late to get the hed trispokes.

there were some really incredible deals there, and the guy who owns the old campy warehouse in houston had some beautiful new old stock cranks and cages and a gorgeous old 60s masi road bike.

today i was looking for a cheap, maybe weatherproof bag that could fit in my front basket on my razesa (yeah, a front basket on a track bike) and i randomly decided to ride over to treasure city/yellow bike on twelve street. i wasn't hoping for much, but the rain clouds were cooling things down enough to ride east. i snagged a banjo brothers mini-messenger bag that was made for my basket for ten bucks at the thrift and a cheap set of flat bars at yellow bike.

thanks for everything.
