this shit is getting ridiculous. i have fun on these rides, but only at the stops. people ride recklessly and when the mob mentality gets going it makes people act like assholes.
but some people take nice photos of our friends.

Pretty much why i stopped going to these. That and it was hard to feel critical or massive when it was just me and six other people.
how long ago were there only six other people?
It's been a while since it was that small. 2 years ago (March 07 was my first CM) we had maybe 60 people, now we regularly roll with 400+. It's been crazy huge and in every big crowd there'll be assholes, unskilled cyclists, and other people that we don't particularly jive with. It seems like there are a larger percentage of chill people than assholes showing up these days, but unfortunately, we can't just kill the bad apples and be done with 'em. Ah well. I just hate to see the good ones pinched for the actions of the scumbags.
Had to have been 3 years ago, at least. It was summer time. The city used to empty out more back then.
